First A Compliment

First

it’s a compliment.

Ego flattery

and mutual words

of admiration.

Second

It’s a message sent.

Inbox underhand

when no one’s looking.

Late nights when minds snooze.

Third

The conversation.

The cherished applaud

of conjoint motive

and hopeful desire.

Fourth

The poetry flows.

Dreams still unspoken.

The lines are metered

frantic to ensnare.

Fifth

Gaining an insight

into a bared soul

friendship is written,

suggestive of more.

Sixth

Collectively wrong

the inbox romance,

numbers exchanging

sneaky misdialling.

Eight

Sexual frustration

lives with long term nags,

comfortable slippers,

and internet wanks.

Nine

The reality is

infidelity

for a fantasy

of anger and hurt.

Concluding

A poets fancy’s

fickle heart trapping

fools, she wants to be

everyone’s darling.
